PAS-SO

MISSION STATEMENT Rev. 2

October 08, 2008

The Plein Air Society of Southern OregonPAS-SO” was formed in
2004 to provide a forum for regional artists who share a passion for Plein Air.
Participants range from professionals
to amateurs

Goal

Our goal is to bring all levels of active plein-air artists together to explore and develop the tradition of plein-air painting, develop camaraderie and to become better artists. We strive to promote an awareness and appreciation of our art by displaying and selling our work in exhibitions and on the PAS-SO.com website.

Membership

Membership is by invitation. Guests are invited on paint outs. After a guest has attended three or more paint outs in one year, the "guests sponsor" may propose the guest for membership, and if the committee concurs the guest becomes a PAS-SO member.

Maintenance of the PAS-SO.com web site is by payment of annual dues for those who choose to participate.  Dues are based on cost of web site maintenance.  Currently  Members will be assessed  $.50 per month or $6.00 per year.

When exhibits of PAS-SO art develop, participating members are encouraged to help with various tasks to make them successful, and to share in the costs of producing Plein Air Shows.

A three person Steering Committee will be chosen by consensus annually. The Steering Committee will guide development of the group, negotiate for show sites, and determine the time and location of paint outs. Other committees will be formed as necessary. All members are encouraged to seek and recommend painting sites.

Any successful organization needs a little structure to ensure healthy development. Having said that, we resolve to “keep our eyes on the ball”, which is to paint outdoors and have fun in a safe environment. Everything else is secondary.
